Bernece D., West Covina, CA

My home of 30+ years is large and has been well served by the old unit. Due to rising energy cost here in Southern California, it has become necessary to upgrade all old energy using appliances to more efficient ones with current technology.

I have chosen to go with the Puron Air Conditioner unit because of Freon becoming unavailable or very costly to maintain in the very near future. I have also replaced my old Carrier heater and thermostat with new upgraded models.

Thank you for a quality product. I'm looking forward to another 30 years of service!

We have been the proud satisfied owners of a Carrier air conditioner for 39 comfortable years with only one technician's visit in 1980 for a minor problem in the indoor unit.

Buying a new air conditioning system may be considered a major decision for homeowners, but for us it was easy since Carrier is the name we trusted, based on our long-standing, continuous service. We were very fortunate to be on the right track from the beginning in our choice of Carrier.

Thank you for your remarkable products.

I purchased a new Carrier unit to save on energy costs and improve the cooling in our home. Our 34 year-old unit was the best purchase we made when we built our home in 1970, and although we will miss it, the new unit is cooling beautifully. I hope the new unit will give us the same satisfaction that we thoroughly enjoyed with the old unit. I would own no other brand than a Carrier.

Our dealer, A.J. Perri, was extraordinary. He explained everything, gave us a good deal and exhibited military precision in his installation work! We are very pleased, and so should you be, to have a representative of Carrier products the caliber of A.J. Perri.

Here is our 35 year old condensing unit. As you can tell my son and I are not the original Owners of this Unit. Our house has 2 Carrier heating/A.C. units so we decided that 35 years was not a bad run.

I have replaced my model G2 Carrier Air Conditioning system, which is 30 plus years old, and gave good service all these years – only one thing replaced has been the compressor relay. However as the price of energy has gone up I decided to replace it with your top of the line Infinity 18 air conditioner.

My hat is off to the design team for this ONE great job. Upon lighting the system off it is running sooooooooo quiet one is not sure it is running. Cooling is great along with the software that anticipates your needs.

Our house was built in 1969. We bought it in Jan.1974. Our Carrier central air unit is a 1969/1970 model. It has given us faithful service all of these years and it has never had to be repaired! So when the compressor gave out in August 2004, we decided "it was time". We always knew that "when the time came" we would replace it with another Carrier – without a doubt! So we now have a new Carrier Performance model with Puron and are looking forward to another 30-plus years of dependable service!

Our house was built in the 1950s. When we bought it in 1990, we were told that the Carrier air conditioner was probably installed when the house was new. The Carrier unit worked perfectly 14 years, and was about 50 years old when we "retired" it for another. Because the old unit was so reliable and worked problem-free for almost a half a century, another Carrier was our first–and only–choice. Maybe it will for another 50 years, too.

A Carrier air conditioner and furnace was installed in each of the 45 units of Stillpound, a private community of condominiums. Our installation tab indicates that it was put into service on 5-10-73.

Why did I purchase a new Carrier? When I moved into my condominium in Cockeysville, Maryland my Carrier air conditioner was 28 years old and still functioning. It lasted another 3 years. Any air conditioner that can last 31 years is good enough for me! Why would I ever change to another brand?

Ralph W., Tell City, IN

We built our first house in 1961 and had 2 Carrier furnaces and air purifiers installed. We also had air conditioning installed downstairs. The kids complained about their rooms being hot in the summer, so in 1966 we installed an air conditioner for the upstairs.

With gas prices as they are, we decided to replace the furnaces with high efficiency furnaces. The old furnaces were still in good working order. The downstairs air conditioner was replaced a few years ago, but the upstairs air conditioner was still working fine. Our Carrier dealer suggested that we replace the old unit with a new high efficiency Puron unit, so that is what we did. We have had no problems with the unit over the years and could not have been happier with the performance of our old equipment. That is why we stayed with the same brand and dealer. We always had our furnaces and air conditioners checked every season.

Peter S., Leawood, KS

When we bought our current home 10 years ago, we were very happy with it. But we were also very concerned about the air conditioner. It was original equipment, apparently installed when the house was first built around 1959. In fact, we were so concerned that we did something we had never done before – we purchased a home warranty that covered the air conditioner in case of failure, certain that the unit wouldn't last another year.

7 years (and no significant repairs) later, we finally dropped the warranty. We recently decided to replace the air conditioner, but not because it wasn't working properly. It was installed underneath a deck that was to be replaced, and we decided to move the unit to another location.

When it came time to decide on another air conditioner, we shopped around and took into account a number of factors including price, efficiency, and quietness. However, one factor was extremely important. The original, 45 year-old air conditioner was a Carrier. With a track record like that, why would we buy anything else?

Jeremy & Stephanie B., Hay, KS

My wife and I purchased our first home in June of this year. The house was built in 1964 and still had the original Carrier furnace and air conditioner. Shortly after moving in, the air conditioner quit working and was deemed to be irreparable. After looking at several different brands of air conditioners, we found Carrier to be the best value and to have the unit that best fit our family's needs. It was also a comfort to us knowing that our existing Carrier had heated and cooled our home for over 30 years! We hope that our new unit will serve us as well as the previous one had.

More than 30 years ago my husband and I installed a Carrier split-system central air conditioning system in our home. It performed faultlessly and gave us much pleasure over all those years. However, it was time to replace the air conditioner outdoor condensing unit with a newer more environmentally friendly unit. I had learned that the refrigerant required in the old unit was being phased out by our federal government because of its potentially harmful effects on the ozone in the atmosphere. Because of our good experience with the Carrier product, I replaced this very old Carrier air conditioner outdoor condensing unit with a new Carrier Puron unit. I look forward to many years of cool pleasure.

Mark C., Phoenix, AZ

I have always been impressed with the fact that my Carrier air conditioning unit, air handler and furnace has continued to operate dependably for 32 years. Even though it has needed some maintenance in its final years, there have been no major problems with the unit. This fact has always impressed me, especially as a discerning engineer. When I decided to replace all my HVAC system, of course my first choice was Carrier. But I did my research anyway, talking to different HVAC sales people. What really convinced me in the end was the independent research summaries I found on the web at www.consumeresearch.com. The results to me said that Carrier was definitely the way to go.

30 years! I can't think of any products that have a lifespan of 30 years. When we bought our house 5 years ago we knew that we would have to replace the heater and air conditioner. We expected to get 5 years of trouble-free service from our Carrier unit, and we were very surprised to learn that it was 30 years old.

I'm a careful comparison shopper and Carrier represented the best value for the money. After comparing features among competing brands, we decided to stick with a winner. We're very happy with the performance of our Puron equipped air conditioner, and we're equally confident that this winter we'll be enjoying the benefits of our new heater. Comfort Control Corporations was a pleasure to work with.

David C., London, Ontario

The 30+ year Carrier air conditioner was replaced not because it was not working but because we were replacing our 36 year old furnace with a high efficiency Carrier furnace and it made sense to upgrade to a high efficiency air conditioner. It was not an easy decision to replace a fully functional machine with a new one. Carrier was chosen because of the trouble-free performance we had with our original air conditioner and other Carrier products. To us the name has become synonymous with quality and reliability.

A reluctant (it's working so why am I replacing it?) customer who is environmentally conscious,

—David C., London, Ontario

We built our home in 1962 and installed a Carrier furnace and air conditioner. A couple years ago, we changed the furnace out with another contractor in town, and I was never happy with their product. It was so noisy and the old inside coil didn't fit well over the furnace and leaked into it causing electrical problems.

So, I had Dave Fonda come out from Boettner Heating and Air Conditioning, because I wanted a system my wife and I could rely on. I'm 93 years old, and we intend to stay in our home until the end.

Well, our new Infinity furnace and TXA air conditioner exceeded our expectations, and they are so quiet. We're very pleased.

I purchased a new Carrier air conditioner because of the service and dependability of my old Carrier air conditioner and my Carrier dealer, John C. Stewart & Co.

I purchased my house, which was built around 1830, in December, 1983 and John C. Stewart & Co. has serviced my Carrier unit ever since. Mr. Stewart had installed the unit for previous owners. The old unit cooled the house (which is over 3,300 square feet and 170+ years old) summer after summer for the 20 years I have lived here, with little or no maintenance and John C. Stewart & Co. was always there when maintenance or repair was needed.

"As you've said, 'from one expert to another', I was an expert to select your product a little over 30 years ago and it still works like a dream. You, the expert in manufacturing, made me decide to replace my unit with an energy efficient one. Consequently, I have made the change."

"I sincerely hope the service is as good with my new unit as it was with the old one–your product is above and beyond, keep up the good work."

Dear Sir,

I wish to convey to you how pleased I was to get over 30 years service from our Carrier Central Air Conditioner. For the last 10 years, I was always waiting for it to fail. Well, after 33 years, it "bit the dust." What more can a person ask for?

3 things were the determining factors why I chose Carrier:

  1. The service and reliability of the old unit.
  2. The use of Puron® instead of Freon 22.
  3. The professional way in which Tim Corcoran handeled the sale. He was always straight-forward with me.

Sincerely,
—Harry K.

Lori E., Kingsburg, CA

Dear Carrier,

I recently replaced my old Carrier cooling and heating system with a new Carrier unit. Even though we've only lived in the house for 12 years, the old unit had worked great (or so I thought until I felt the power of the new unit) for all these years with very little maintenance.

Knowing that my unit was probably very old, I decided that now was the time to replace it before it went out or started having major problems. Little did I know that my unit was almost 35 years old and should have been retired long ago!

I chose to stay with Carrier–because of the excellent job my old unit did–and the reputation that Carrier has with my family. My parents have had Carrier units, and have always been satisfied with the quality of the product. I also have a great contractor who recommended Carrier.

I've enclosed a photo of myself alongside our old, faithful friend (the coils were in the basement). The only bad thing about it was the noise, and you can see the large cement slab that we placed on top to keep the lid from rattling. It was approximately 50 feet from the house, in full sun for the majority of the day, but worked like it knew its job was very important! We placed the new unit right next to a bedroom and can't believe how quiet it is.

We live in the San Joaquin Valley, in central California, where summer temps are in the 100s for the majority of the summer. I have confidence that my new unit, just like the old one, will work great and help us not only stay cool on scorching days but will keep us toasty warm in the winter as well.

Sincerely,
—Lori E., Kingsburg, CA

I had a Carrier furnace and air conditioning system installed February 1973. The system operated for more than 30 years and was in operation when I decided to replace it with a more efficient system. The air conditioning system operated flawlessly during the 30+ years and never required a service call. Choosing a replacement system was a "no-brainer." I went to the Carrier web-site, called local Carrier Authorized Contractors, chose a Model 38TSA Condensing Unit, a Model 58CVA Furnace and an Infinity Control. The system was installed July 1, 2004. I am very satisfied with the installation and operation to date.

To whom it may concern,

"The Carrier Air Conditioning unit shown in the picture developed a leak and it ran low on Freon®. The unit used R500 Freon®, which is terribly expensive. Due to the continuous good service I had with this unit (over 25 years without a service call), I could not in good judgment change hands."

Sincerely,

"I purchased this Carrier air conditioning unit in June 1973–31 years ago. It had served my family through all these years reliably. I am now replacing it for a more efficient and environmentally friendly unit. What make? Carrier model, of course."

Dear folks at Carrier,

Here is a picture of me with my Carrier unit the day before it was replaced by your new Puron® unit. I'm smiling because I'm happy to be buying another Carrier unit. The old one served me well–it was installed on March 11, 1973. That means it is over 31 years old!

It was installed 1 year after Richard Nixon left office, 10 years after Apple introduced the Macintosh, and when Jennifer Lopez was still an unmarried toddler of 2. This was 2 years after the first Saturday Night Live Show, 2 years after the movie Jaws, 4 years after Star Wars, and 5 years after Animal House.

So I am hoping that by the time I need to replace this one, people will be traveling on their own personal hovercrafts, no one will die of cancer or AIDS, an there will be world peace, and I will be 92 years old!!!!

Thanks for all the cool memories!

—Laura C., Short Hills, NJ

Attached is a photo of myself with my 32 year old Carrier air conditioner. Also attached are photos of the old Carrier air conditioner being loaded onto the Air Control, Inc. truck, and my new Carrier Infinity series air conditioner (note: the bushes were trimmed.)

I purchased a new Carrier Infinity series replacement because:

  • my existing Carrier air conditioner was still operating after 32 years (although the condensate drain pan had recently developed a leak),
  • Carrier's Infinity series air conditioners use environmentally friendly Puron® Refrigerant,
  • I can rely on Air Control, Inc. for installation and service,
  • the Two-stage compressor will save energy and provide additional comfort

The heater & air conditioner have been installed for 37 years, and we have been very satisfied with the system. I have a friend that was in the heat. & air condition business for many years, and I have been telling him I need a new system, but it is still working and he said to leave it alone. The system has not had the refrigerant checked or installed for 37 years. This was the reason I wanted another Carrier system and I hope it will last me.

—Roger H., Bethany, OK

P.S. I was very satisfied with T&S Heat & Air in Bethany.

Cohn Family

We purchased our house 3 years ago from a meticulous older woman. Apparently she rarely used the Air Conditioner preferring the fresh (but stifling) summer breeze.

So the older unit was in good condition and underused. With small children, we needed the cooler air and we used the 30+ year unit extensively in our 3 summers in the House. This summer it began to make noises. When we had it checked, and the Technician seemed to be younger than the unit, we knew it was time to upgrade. We got great help from our friends at Stashluck Plumbing (Summit, New Jersey) and we made the decision to upgrade to the new model.

Dear Carrier Corporation,

We recently came to the realization that we were going to need a new air conditioner. Knowing next to nothing about air conditioners, we went through the process of getting estimates and gathering information. The last estimate we received was from a Carrier dealer. Not only was he one of the most knowledgeable, but he was also one of the most economical. What clinched the deal for us though was that his company had installed our Carrier furnace (before we had bought the house) and that the Carrier air conditioner outside had lasted 30 years. After we made our decision to purchase a Carrier, we found out from family members that they had had a Carrier for 25 years. We are looking forward to a cool house for many summers to come and that with great savings in energy as well.

Sincerely,
—Daniel and Janet M., Loyal Carrier Customers

Dear Customer Relations,

Our old Carrier air conditioner and old Carrier electric furnace have been faithful, dependable units. Seeing them being hauled away in the trailer of our Carrier dealer, Air Tech, was as if a part of our home was leaving us.

Inevitably, after many hard-working years, all mechanical products eventually must being to show wear and signs of age. Our old Carrier still had life, but was getting weak and the time came for a replacement. Certainly, because of experiencing Carrier quality, our family would settle for nothing less than another Carrier.

Wow! We already love our new Carrier Puron® cooling and heating units. We are really excited about the energy efficient features of our new units and look forward to the lowered cooling and heating bills.

I appreciate the $100.00 rebate and look forward to another 30+ years of indoor comfort with our new Carrier Puron unit.

Sincerely.
—Eugene H., Ozona, TX

I purchased Carrier Performance 13 air conditioner for the following reasons:

  1. Existing 30+ year old unit provides ultimate proof on reliability of Carrier Air Conditioners & it's durability, beyond any doubt.
  2. Highly cost-effective on a long-term basis, though economical options are available.
  3. Though there was a gas leak in the old system (anywhere between furnace/unit), the unit itself was in working condition.
  4. Larry Ehlers of Erv Ehlers Company, Carrier Agent provided highly professional support & commitment, from first exploratory call to completion of installation. Providing "hassle-free" service. A great agent dealing with a great product.
