I purchased a new Carrier Air Conditioning Unit, Model 24APA5, to replace my 32 year old Carrier Air Conditioning Unit, Model 38GR004 installed on May 25, 1975. The new unit was installed on June 8, 2007. I purchased the new Carrier A/C Unit because the 1975 unit had served me so well. I believe that in the 32 years since I bought the 38GR004 unit, it required service only twice. The 2nd time was June 1, 2007 when a leak developed in the R22 coolant system. Even though the system worked fine when the coolant low pressure switch was by-passed, I decided that the cost of finding and repairing the leak and recharging the system with R22 would not be cost effective. The money would be better spent on a new higher efficiency unit, and we bought the Carrier 24APA5 unit.

Sincerely,

—Charles G., Ann Arbor, MI

When our furnace stopped working this past winter, we decided to replace it and upgrade our 30-year-old Carrier air conditioner at the same time. It was easy to make Carrier our first choice as we saw how well and how long the old one lasted. We chose a 3.5 ton 13 SEER Puron unit and love it!

Why did I buy a new Carrier furnace? I've got two reasons: 1. Since buying this house seven years ago the furnace has been 100% reliable even at 30 years old! And 2. our sales guy was great! Thanks Raman for taking time to listen and to help make this new furnace fit in to our beautiful old house.

I recently replaced my 33 year old air conditioner with a new Infinity unit as I wanted to benefit from the higher efficiency, two-stage operation should reduce wear and tear and the WeatherArmor appears to be a robust coating.

I recently replaced my 33 year old furnace with a new Infinity unit equipped with an Infinity Air Purifier. The old unit could have gone another 10 years but, with the price of natural gas, the much-improved efficiency of the new unit should result in a significant savings in gas and electricity. the variable speed fan is much quieter and should result in additional energy savings. The jury is still out on the effectiveness of the Infinity Air Purifier as the new system has been in operation for a day.

It was time to update the heating/cooling system. Since the original Carrier lasted all those years without ever needing service, we decided to stay with Carrier. All I can say is "Hey Maytag man, make some room for the Carrier man!"
