Carrier is proud to present the 2010 President’s Award to Environmental Systems Associates. Through their professionalism and high level of customer service, Environmental Systems Associates truly exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding contractor.
Environmental Systems Associates has been helping the people of Howard County, MD with their heating and cooling concerns since 1972. Our motto, "Your Comfort is our Concern", encompasses our basic philosophy of meeting all of our customer's indoor air comfort needs, from the systems we install to the quality of the air in their homes, we cover it all. Servicing only residential customers, we concentrate our service area in Howard County, MD.
ESA is a family business. Mike Hendricks started it in 1972 with Richard Dean becoming a full partner shortly after that. Mike’s oldest son Michael joined them after graduating from college.
We have 24 employees, and all are dedicated to putting the customer first. Our office staff is friendly and helpful, with 3 of the 5 office workers having been here over 20 years. During office hours, we never use an automated system to answer calls. Our owners are often on site and available for customers' questions and concerns.
We focus on "Whole Home Solutions" including Home Energy Audits, properly sized high efficiency systems, and accessories like humidifiers, air filters, and programmable thermostats. We also partner with Insulation and Duct Cleaning contractors. Our goal is to help the customer realize maximum savings on their heating and cooling dollars.
We are dedicated to a quality product and a quality installation. Our proposals are very detailed and explain to the customer what product they will receive, what they can expect from our crews, and often choices between two or more systems, plus options. We run our own sheet metal shop on site so that we can do installations faster and more efficiently. Our installation crews dress neatly, use drop cloths or booties, and clean up the worksite when they are finished.
To return goodwill to the community we serve, we are involved in an Adopt-A-Group-Home project. Our local Carrier distributor has made available discounted "scratch and dent" units that have enabled us to install systems in the Arc of Howard County homes for disabled citizens, at a significant discount. We have been voted "Howard County's Best Heating & Air Conditioning Repair" every year for nine years in a row. The largest source of new customers is from referrals by our current customers.
Our focus is on long term relationships with our customers. We maintain and retain a large number of customers through our Planned Maintenance Agreements. This helps us to continuously service and keep their equipment in good working order. The trust and respect that grow through the years make us the first choice for a free estimate, when it is time for a replacement system. We remain competitive in the market and it's our personal touch that gives us the edge when our customers are deciding who to call.
